Hate

Twice, upon my doorstep
    evil's face has drawn nigh.
I fear that it may someday
    Find his way inside.

Oh, sweet protection of my door!
    I envy not the streetworld
For this day of wicked lot
    hath many not endured.

The darkness drowns the outside
    The fear and sadness wail
A little nick nock at my door
    and frightful face doth pail.

"It's come!" I hoarsely cry
    all hope inside is fleeing!
The wicked darkness always claims,
    or else it never leaves.

Small voice says "Come, join me!
    We all are gaily playing!"
Despite knowing what darkness brings
    this trigger makes me submit.

I peak the door, but an inch
and in sprung big ol' Satan!
"You knew, you fool, what awaited you
and still you simply gave in!"
